Mr Steve Jurgeit - Teacher Assistant at Brooks
Dear Brooks families past and present
It is with a heavy heart that I share that our beloved Mr J passed away peacefully on Saturday August 23 after some time away from work due to illness. Steve will be remembered as a kind-hearted, smart, humble TA who believed in our kids and community.
He was always at Brooks early, sitting in his spot in our staffroom, and always so positive and thoughtful in his outlook. Brooks was a very important part of his life, and he played a key part in supporting our values and culture since he began his career in 2002. In his later years, he particularly enjoyed his time in MDT, supporting students with their projects. Steve loved school events such as the colour run and book week; he was never happier than when covered in coloured paint and dressing up in costumes with our young people. Mr J loved to laugh and found joy in his everyday interactions with students and staff at Brooks.
There is no doubt that Steve loved his work as a Teacher Assistant, and he made a significant contribution to the young people he worked with over the past 23 years; his patience, high expectations and respectful manner made an impact. His contributions to Brooks will be fondly remembered. Steve J made a difference.
