Here we are at the end of one of the most challenging and unusual terms of my teaching career. Once more I thank our school community for their support.
Next term many things will be returning to normal and we are excited!
This includes:
- A return of Wednesday afternoon sport. This year we will be fielding 3 netball teams, 3 soccer teams and our football team. Unfortunately the NHSSA is not allowing spectators at this time.
- North East Cup will also be returning with two days planned for term 3.
- We have a school cross country planned for August 7.
- Assemblies will be resuming too. These are an important part of our school culture as they are both celebrations and opportunities to share whole school messages. Parents attendance will be invite only at this stage.
- Excursions have also been given the all clear, however there are still restrictions when we are out in the community. Unfortunately camps have not been given the all clear. This means that our year 10 students will not be able to participate in a camp this year, as our year 10’s did in 2019.
When parents and carers and other community members or contractors come onto a school site for more than a few minutes they will be asked to fill in a questionnaire. This is a Department of Education expectation. Questions include: your name and address, have you had any flu like symptoms? Have you travelled recently? The reason we are being asked to do this is so that people can be traced if a COVID-19 case occurs. These questionnaires will only be kept for a three week period. Parents/guardians who come into the school for meetings will be asked to fill one of these in.
We continue to ask students and visiting adults who are sick to stay at home. Please let the school know if your child is away due to illness.
I wish all our students a great break and look forward to getting back to some form of normality next term.
Kind Regards
Louise Fisher (Principal)

CUPCAKE CHALLENGE - FOOD TECHNOLOGY
Creative cooking skills were on show last week as senior Food Technology students designed and produced cupcakes that would be hard to resist if you saw them in a bakery. The students generated an amazing range of designs, and then cooked, decorated and tweaked their ideas to produce incredible results. Truly mouth-watering cupcakes. Carol Marshall
To finish off Term 2, Year 8 students have undertaken a unit on DSLR photography in Digital Art. Spending multiple lessons developing their understanding of the theory of using DSLR cameras in manual mode, they are now spending the last few lessons outside to develop control with the light metre, shutter speed and aperture to create correctly exposed images. They have explored a variety of prime lenses and used prompts to develop their creativity. We hope you enjoy their beautiful creations, celebrating the beauty of natural elements around our school.

Year 8 Dance Drama worked extremely hard in first term to put together a piece to share in the ANZAC Assembly.
As this could not go ahead, students performed their finished piece to many smaller audiences to build their confidence before the class finishes this term.
All students involved thoroughly enjoyed performing several times for their peers. They did an amazing job and Miss Ponting is extremely proud of their efforts.
